Our Story
The Tau Omega Omega Chapter was chartered on December 11, 1993. However, our story began many years before with an interest group known as the Tea Roses who would faithfully and regularly meet with the Theta Beta Omega Chapter of New Bern, NC. In the quest to establish a chapter locally, the AKA's of Jacksonville began their search of sorority members within the Jacksonville area. Needing 21 Alpha Kappa Alpha women to start a local chapter, the dream would soon become a reality. Alpha Kappa Alpha women in the community were located and came together to form Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Tau Omega Omega Chapter of Jacksonville, NC.
